A game in which one player bears off all his or her checkers before the opponent bears off any is known as a gammon. This is scored as a double game; i.e., the winner is credited with two wins, or with twice the value of the doubling cube if that's being used. If, in addition to having borne off no checkers, the loser still has at least one checker in the winner's inner board, the result is a backgammon. A backgammon is scored as a triple win in the United States and at Yahoo! but is no different from a gammon in most of the world.
